چکیده
" Therapeutic Abortion with Special Reference to Methods of Delivery." Though abdominal hysterotomy was first done in the Royal Maternity Hospital in June 1926, for a case of hydatidiform mole, it was not until after Dr Davidson's paper that this method of treatment was practised in the hospital, almost as a routine in practically every case of advanced toxaemia occurring in the earlier months of pregnancy, where urgent interference was required. It will therefore be seen that in this city at least the operation is of very recent date, and there is nothing in the literature to lead one to suppose that it had been done previously in other centres, as the only other references to the operation that I can find outside Edinburgh are in the American journals: in all these references, however, with one exception, the operation was confined to cases of hydatidiform mole, the exception being in a paper by Whitridge Williams last year on sterilisation, when the operation is mentioned in connection with early cases of albuminuria associated with high blood pressure. By the aid of statistics I hope now to show how great an advance this operation is from the other slower forms of induction and also from vaginal hysterotomy. I have been

متن کاملPrint: Chapter 25. Cesarean Delivery and Peripartum Hysterectomy
Cesarean delivery is defined as the birth of a fetus through incisions in the abdominal wall (laparotomy) and the uterine wall (hysterotomy). This definition does not include removal of the fetus from the abdominal cavity in the case of rupture of the uterus or in the case of an abdominal pregnancy. In some cases, and most often because of emergent complications such as intractable hemorrhage, ...

We report the case of a 33-year-old female who presented with endometriosis of the anterior abdominal wall following Caesarean Section at the surgical incision site. A greater i...
متن کاملLaparoscopic Placement and Removal of Abdominal Cerclage: A Case Report
Abdominal cerclage may be recommended in women with a shortened or absent cervix or after failure of a previous vaginal cerclage. If the abdominal cerclage has to be removed prior to delivery of a non-viable fetus, hysterotomy is not necessary. In that case a laparoscopic removal should be considered. We will discuss laparoscopic placement and removal of an abdominal cerclage placed in a 27-yea...

Intrauterine adhesions were demonstrated by hysterography in 14 cases. Lysis of adhesions was performed in 14 patients through vaginal route and in 3 by abdominal hysterotomy. Cyclic abdominal pain disa...
